The Kindness Letter is a powerful exercise for generating feelings of connection and belonging. Plus, it can create a really positive experience for someone else in your life!
First, identify someone in your life who made or makes a positive contribution to your life. Then, take some time to write them a letter thanking them for what they’ve done and/or do for you.
See if you can communicate what it is about them that creates this positive influence. Is it their demeanor? Or maybe a particular character strength?
Lastly, take this exercise to the next level by actually delivering your letter! The more personal, the better. You can try an email, or you can ramp it up with a hand-written note you deliver in person. Or, you can even read them the letter directly!
